Baby, It's Cold Outside - Hot Cocoa & Mug Gift Set
Growing up in the midwest, I was used to very cold winters. As a child, one thing I really loved on those snowy days was hot chocolate. I remember my mom always having a large bucket of hot cocoa mix, that she made, on hand during the winter months. It was a staple at many church and family gatherings.
My mom's hot cocoa mix was a simple blend of cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk powder. But it was the perfect combination of sweet and chocolatey, and it always hit the spot on a cold day.
I thought it would be a great addition to the pantry to have these individually portioned packets of this perfect combination of ingredients to re-create this for others to unjoy in those cold wintry months. Or, whenever you crave some kick-ass hot chocolate.
I did update some of the ingredients from the original. I use Dutch-processed cocoa powder, which gives the hot cocoa a richer, more chocolatey flavor. And I used nonfat milk powder to make it a healthier option.
